Specifically, the police leadership has highlighted that a substantial decrease in their non-wage budgetary allocation, a component slated for a significant reduction of Shs43 billion, is poised to have far-reaching negative repercussions. This financial constraint is expected to directly impact vital aspects such as adequate personnel staffing levels, the quality and frequency of officer training programs, and the crucial maintenance of essential police equipment and infrastructure, ultimately threatening the force’s ability to maintain law and order effectively and ensure public safety.
