The Forum for Democratic Change, FDC, presidential candidate, the Honourable Nathan Nandala Mafabi, has today articulated a key promise aimed at safeguarding vulnerable populations. Speaking during his ongoing campaign, Mr. Mafabi specifically pledged robust protection for fishing communities. He committed to shielding these vital communities from what he described as unwarranted government crackdowns, which he asserts have significantly impacted their livelihoods and stability. Furthermore, the FDC flag bearer did not shy away from directly criticizing the incumbent administration. He leveled a serious accusation against the ruling National Resistance Movement, NRM, alleging that the party has systematically abandoned the residents of the Busoga region. This alleged abandonment, according to Mafabi, comes at a time when the people of Busoga are grappling with profound economic struggles, thereby exacerbating their already challenging circumstances and hindering their potential for development and prosperity.
