Uganda has achieved significant milestones in its ongoing battle against HIV/Aids, demonstrating remarkable progress in reducing the impact of the epidemic across the nation. Official figures reveal a substantial decline in annual Aids-related deaths over the past fourteen years. According to comprehensive data recently presented to the national Parliament by the Uganda AIDS Commission, or UAC, the number of fatalities attributed to Aids has sharply decreased. The report indicates that annual Aids-related deaths, which stood at 56,000 in the year 2010, have now fallen dramatically to 20,000 by the year 2024. This significant reduction underscores the effectiveness of various national health interventions and strategies implemented during this period, marking a pivotal achievement in public health efforts.
