The Ugandan government has announced significant financial gains, saving an impressive Shs773.3 billion. This substantial fiscal achievement is a direct outcome of the strategic rationalisation of various government agencies, as revealed by the Minister for Public Service, Honourable Muruli Mukasa. The Minister underscored the positive impact of these reforms on the national treasury, demonstrating a commitment to efficiency and prudent resource management. Furthermore, Minister Mukasa provided an update on the human resource aspect of this extensive reform process. He confirmed that a remarkable ninety percent of the staff members from the forty agencies that have undergone rationalisation have been successfully absorbed into the mainstream public service. This ensures continuity in public service delivery and addresses the welfare of the affected personnel, integrating them into the broader government framework.
