In a significant development coming out of the capital city, the Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court has officially ordered that the former Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, be further remanded to the Luzira Maximum Security Prison. This judicial decision follows a tense session in which the presiding magistrate opted to defer the highly anticipated ruling regarding the bail application submitted by the legal team representing the former mayor. Providing clarity on the procedural timeline moving forward, the court has formally announced that the final decision concerning the bail request will not be delivered in person today. Instead, the magistrate has stipulated that the official ruling will be communicated to all involved parties within the next twenty-four hours through electronic mail correspondence. Consequently, Erias Lukwago remains in state custody at Luzira Prison as the legal proceedings continue to unfold under the oversight of the Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court.
