In a significant development reported by UBC TV Uganda, the Permanent Secretary to the Treasury and Secretary to the Treasury, Ramathan Ggoobi, has issued a formal and urgent appeal to all cabinet ministers. Mr. Ggoobi has strongly urged members of the cabinet to strictly avoid any form of budget indiscipline. Furthermore, the Secretary to the Treasury cautioned against engaging in what he termed as budget games. According to Mr. Ggoobi, such unprofessional practices and fiscal irregularities ultimately serve to undermine and severely hurt the effective delivery of essential public services to the citizens. This directive highlights the government’s ongoing commitment to maintaining fiscal responsibility and ensuring that national resources are utilized efficiently for the benefit of the entire country.
