Listeners of Radio Ankole 99.3 FM, we bring you a significant update regarding the SkyBird Programme currently operating within the Ntungamo district. This initiative, which has been functioning under the direct oversight and management of the Uganda Red Cross Society, has now been officially brought to a complete halt. The programme, which relied heavily on financial support provided by the Austrian Development Cooperation in partnership with the Austrian Red Cross, is no longer in a position to continue its activities. According to official reports, this unfortunate cessation of operations has been necessitated by the decision of the donor countries to suspend all funding. This withdrawal of financial backing is directly attributed to the ongoing geopolitical tensions and the broader impacts stemming from the conflict between the United States and Russia. Consequently, the SkyBird Programme will cease its local operations effective immediately as a result of these international developments.
