The Forum for Democratic Change, widely known as the FDC, has officially put forward a significant proposal aimed at restructuring the current national education calendar in Uganda. The political organization is advocating for a transition from the existing academic structure to a streamlined two-term system. According to the party leadership, the current arrangement places an immense and unsustainable financial burden upon parents across the country. Furthermore, the FDC argues that the present schedule severely limits the essential time children are able to spend interacting with their families at home. By shifting to this proposed two-term model, the party believes that the educational system would become more manageable for households while simultaneously fostering stronger domestic connections for students nationwide.
