The Right Honourable Thomas Tayebwa, representing the National Resistance Movement, has been formally declared the winner of this high-stakes parliamentary contest. According to the final tally released by the presiding officials, the Right Honourable Tayebwa secured a commanding victory with a total of 457 votes. In the same electoral process, the Forum for Democratic Change candidate, Asinasi Nyakato, garnered 45 votes, while Sarah Aguti of the Uganda People’s Congress received 14 votes. This decisive outcome confirms the leadership position for the Right Honourable Tayebwa as he assumes his new role in the legislative house.
