In a significant political development for the nation, Jacob Marksons Oboth-Oboth has officially been elected as the Speaker of Uganda’s 12th Parliament. This decisive outcome was confirmed during the inaugural sitting of the newly constituted legislative body, which took place at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds this past Monday. The election process saw a clear mandate from the members of parliament, resulting in a landslide victory for Oboth-Oboth. According to the official tally released following the conclusion of the voting process, Jacob Marksons Oboth-Oboth secured an impressive total of 441 votes. His primary challengers in the race, Paul Mwiru and Norbert Mao, trailed significantly behind, with Paul Mwiru receiving 60 votes and Norbert Mao garnering 15 votes respectively. This transition marks a pivotal moment for the 12th Parliament as it commences its official duties.
