In a significant political development for Ntungamo District, Hon. Ahabwe Benard Mukasa Mupenda has been officially declared the new District Speaker. This follows a decisive electoral process in which Hon. Mupenda secured a commanding victory by garnering a total of 51 votes. His opponent, Hon. Asimiire Hope, managed to secure 13 votes during the exercise. The electoral proceedings were formally presided over by the Ntungamo Chief Magistrate, His Worship Gordon Muhimbise, who oversaw the integrity of the ballot. According to the official records provided by the electoral officials, the total number of votes cast by the assembly members stood at 64. This transition marks a new chapter for the district leadership as they move forward with their legislative agenda.
