In a significant development reaching our news desk here at Radio Ankole 99.3 FM, the Justice Forum, commonly known as JEEMA, has officially issued a formal call to the Parliament of Uganda. The political organization is strongly urging the legislative body to take immediate action by withdrawing the proposed Sovereignty Bill from the floor of the house. According to the leadership of the Justice Forum, the current draft of this proposed legislation poses a serious threat to the fundamental rights and civil liberties of the Ugandan people. Furthermore, the party contends that the bill is fundamentally flawed because it completely fails to address the long-standing constitutional obligations that the state has regarding the essential matter of citizen preparedness. As this story continues to develop, we will keep you updated on any further responses from the parliamentary leadership regarding these serious concerns raised by JEEMA.
