A comprehensive and recently concluded labour market survey has officially revealed that a concerning 12.8 percent of the Ugandan population aged 15 years and above currently possess no formal education whatsoever. This significant statistical finding serves to underscore a persistent and deeply rooted challenge that continues to hinder the ability of many citizens to successfully access skilled employment opportunities within the national economy. Furthermore, experts note that this lack of educational attainment is effectively narrowing the country’s overall labour market opportunities, thereby creating substantial barriers for a large segment of the workforce as they attempt to navigate an increasingly competitive and demanding professional landscape.
