In a significant address reflecting on the current state of the nation, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, the Right Honourable Thomas Tayebwa, has issued a passionate and urgent call for a fundamental shift toward greater unity and mutual respect within the political landscape of Uganda. This appeal for harmony came as the Deputy Speaker formally paid his respects to the late former Kalangala Woman Member of Parliament, the Honourable Helen Nakimuli. The passing of the former legislator has been marked as a moment of solemn reflection for the country’s leadership. According to official reports, the late Helen Nakimuli breathed her last on the 19th of April, 2026. Her death occurred while she was receiving medical attention at the Alexandra Medical Centre, which is located in the capital city of Kampala. The Deputy Speaker’s remarks serve as both a tribute to her service and a reminder of the need for decorum in public life.
