The Electoral Commission of Uganda has officially confirmed that the upcoming by-election for the Kikuube District Local Council Five chairperson position is scheduled to take place on June 10, 2026. This critical electoral process has been necessitated by the untimely passing of the former district chairperson, Peter Banura Araali, who tragically lost his life in a road accident earlier this month. The commission is now moving forward with the necessary preparations to ensure that the residents of Kikuube District can exercise their democratic right to elect a new leader to fill the vacancy left by the late Peter Banura Araali following his sudden and unfortunate demise.
