Uganda’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Honourable Ruth Nankabirwa, has issued a strong condemnation regarding the recent acts of vandalism targeting critical national infrastructure. Specifically, the Minister denounced the destruction of the 132kV Owen Falls–Mukono North–Namanve South transmission lines. These criminal acts led to the collapse of several vital transmission towers, resulting in widespread disruptions to the electricity supply across affected regions. Tragically, this senseless vandalism also claimed the life of one individual, underscoring the severe human cost and profound impact of such destructive activities on national development and public safety.
