National Unity Platform, NUP, leader Robert Kyagulanyi has strongly rejected recent claims made by President Yoweri Museveni. President Museveni had alleged that opposition political parties in Uganda are funded by foreign interests, and further asserted that these groups transport supporters to their public gatherings and rallies with the intention of artificially inflating their perceived popularity. Kyagulanyi, also widely known as Bobi Wine, firmly dismissed these assertions as unfounded. He countered by emphasizing that his own political movements and public engagements are, in fact, tightly restricted and heavily monitored by various state security agencies. This constant surveillance and control, he indicated, makes it inherently challenging for him to freely mobilize or transport supporters to any events, thereby undermining the very premise of the President’s accusations regarding exaggerated popularity.
