Ahabwe Venansio, an aspiring parliamentary representative for Kajara county, running on the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) political party ticket, has formally lodged a petition with the national Electoral Commission (EC). His complaint specifically targets what he describes as the illegal nomination of James Tukahirwa Byenjeru, the official candidate for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in the same Kajara county parliamentary race. Venansio’s petition challenges the legitimacy of Byenjeru’s candidacy, asserting that certain procedures or requirements for nomination were not properly adhered to, rendering his opponent’s inclusion on the ballot unlawful. This development places the onus on the Electoral Commission to thoroughly review the allegations raised by the PFF aspirant concerning the NRM candidate’s eligibility.
