The President specifically acknowledged and honored the profound sacrifices made by local cadres from the area, whose unwavering commitment was instrumental in achieving the nation’s freedom. He underscored that Busoga’s contribution remains a cornerstone of Uganda’s journey towards self-determination and sovereignty. Furthermore, President Museveni emphatically reiterated that the bedrock of Uganda’s sustained progress and development is inextricably linked to the preservation of peace. He stressed that this fundamental principle, which is absolutely essential for national stability and growth, is deeply and intrinsically associated with the National Resistance Movement, the NRM, as its guiding philosophy.
