The Resident District Commissioner for Ntungamo, Miriam Kagaiga Mugisha, has issued a significant call to members of Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations, commonly known as SACCOs. Commissioner Kagaiga Mugisha strongly encouraged these members to prioritize reinvesting their accumulated funds into the construction of permanent residential homes and commercial buildings. This strategic approach, she emphasized, is vital for significantly enhancing the overall visibility and tangible presence of SACCOs within their respective communities, fostering greater public trust and recognition. Furthermore, the RDC highlighted that such internal reinvestment would play a crucial role in substantially reducing SACCOs’ over-reliance on external financial borrowing, thereby promoting greater financial self-sufficiency and independence. This move would also effectively mitigate operational expenses currently incurred on office accommodation, contributing to long-term financial stability and more efficient resource utilization for the organizations.
