Good evening, listeners, this is Radio Ankole, 99.3 FM Ntungamo, bringing you a significant news update from the Horn of Africa. A passenger aircraft, operated by Star Sky Airlines, has tragically crashed today. The incident occurred shortly after the aircraft’s departure from Aden Adde International Airport, the primary international gateway serving Somalia’s capital. Reports indicate that the catastrophic event unfolded mere moments after the aircraft had taken off, during what is considered the critical initial climb phase of its flight. The ill-fated flight was carrying a total of 55 individuals, all of whom were confirmed as passengers on board. This domestic service was en route to Guri’eel, a key town located within the Galgaduud region of Somalia. Guri’eel is an important center within the federal member state of Galmudug. Authorities are expected to provide further details as the situation develops and initial assessments of the crash site commence.
