Good evening, listeners, and welcome to your Radio Ankole news update on 99.3 FM Ntungamo. We bring you an important public safety announcement concerning road regulations. Authorities are reiterating their strong stance against the use of unauthorized vehicle lighting systems, commonly referred to as illegal lights. These additional lights, often installed aftermarket, have been identified as a significant contributor to road hazards. These non-standard lighting accessories are characterized by their extreme brightness, which poses a considerable danger to other road users. The intense glare emitted by these illegal lights can severely impair the vision of oncoming drivers, creating hazardous conditions on our roads. This risk is particularly pronounced during nighttime hours, when visibility is already naturally reduced. The blinding effect of these unauthorized lights significantly increases the potential for accidents, compromising the safety of everyone on the road. In response to these persistent dangers, authorities have confirmed that operations are actively underway to address and curb the proliferation of such non-compliant vehicle modifications. These ongoing enforcement efforts are specifically designed to identify and remove vehicles equipped with these hazardous lighting systems. The primary objective of these sustained operations is to enhance overall road safety for all motorists and pedestrians across our region, ensuring adherence to established traffic regulations and minimizing risks associated with unauthorized vehicle alterations.
