Reporting for Radio Ankole 99.3 FM here in Ntungamo, we are observing a deepening fuel crisis that is currently biting hard across the district, leaving local motorists in a desperate struggle to secure essential fuel supplies for their daily operations. This ongoing global fuel crisis, which has been primarily triggered by the escalating conflict involving Iran, is now intensifying significant economic pressures throughout the entire nation of Uganda. As these market challenges persist, it is the most vulnerable and poorest households within our community that are finding themselves disproportionately affected by the rising costs of living. At local filling stations across the region, the situation has become increasingly dire for vehicle owners, with current pump prices now fluctuating sharply between Shs 5,500 and Shs 8,000 per liter. We will continue to monitor this developing situation closely as it impacts the transport sector and the livelihoods of our listeners here in Ntungamo.
