The Uganda Communications Commission, widely known as the UCC, has officially expressed deep and growing concern regarding the alarming increase in the abuse of various social media platforms currently being observed among the young population of our nation. In a formal statement released to the public, the regulatory body issued a stern warning, highlighting that the proliferation of harmful online content and the widespread digital misuse of these platforms are rapidly becoming a significant and major threat to the safety and well-being of our children and the youth at large. The commission emphasizes that these digital dangers require immediate attention from all stakeholders to protect the younger generation from the negative impacts of unregulated online activity.
