As the nation turns its attention toward the upcoming political transition, the Uganda Human Rights Commission has officially issued a formal appeal for a renewed and vigorous commitment to the protection of fundamental human rights across the country. With the official swearing-in ceremony for President Yoweri Museveni scheduled to take place on the 12th of May, 2026, for his next term in office, the commission is emphasizing the critical necessity of upholding institutional accountability. Furthermore, the Uganda Human Rights Commission has underscored the vital importance of fostering inclusive economic empowerment for all citizens as the administration prepares to embark upon this new mandate, ensuring that the principles of justice and equitable development remain at the forefront of the national agenda during this significant period of governance.
